Today, 20th August 2026, the uMkhanyakude District Municipality Mayor, Cllr Siphile Mdaka, officially introduced the newly appointed UMhlosinga Development Agency Board to members of the Executive Committee.
Adressing the meeting, Mayor Mdaka reminded the board of it's three-fold mandate, to enhance service delivery, with a particular focus on water services as the district remains the water service authority, to promote tourism within the region, drive socio-economic development and ensure food security for communities.
Mayor Mdaka urged the new board to work with urgency, integrity and accountability in delivering on its mandate to improve the lives of the people of uMkhanyakude.
UMkhanyakude looks forward to a strengthened partnership with the uMhlosinga Agency in advancing development, tourism and sustainable service delivery across the District.
