Umkhanyakude District Municipality is progressing with the Refurbishment and Augmentation of the Water Supply Scheme in Ward 8 aimed at improving water reliability and access for communities in Hluhluwe areas under Big 5 Hlabisa Municipality.
The project, which commenced on 14 October 2025 includes the upgrade of bulk infrastructure and construction of reservoirs to strengthen the water network.
Communities to Benefit:
Once completed, the programme will ensure sustainable water supply to the following areas in Ward 8:
- KwaSmolo
- eMganwini
- Nompondo
- Chwakeme
- Mgodlanduku
- Mthekwini
- Emakhowe
